Changes Of Year Poem by Kalvin Lian

Changes Of Year

When the green comes back,
and the rivers shed white
All can come back, except the darkened light

During the strongest yellow,
fires burn bright even in the darkest night
The fruits grow ripe,
and the sun burns bright

Within the metamorphosis of leaves,
the leaves become patterned fire,
to the weak eyes
As we prepare for the most beautiful weeks,
before the falling of so many sheets

In the shortest days
and coldest nights
We all wait by the hearth
as the flakes fall slow
Giving that eccentric glow
