Dreams interrupted
Rudely awakened
In the wee hours of the morning
Rounds of gun shots firing
Screams of terror and fear
Constant news horror stories
And witnessing what’s not reported
Becoming routine occurrences
Tired of the shootings
Daily robberies
Carjacking realities
Domestic violence
Child abuse and sexual assaults
Hourly murders
When does it end
Never I guess
When do you get numb
To the acts violence
I simply can’t
Violence is a part of my life
That I can never accept
Chaos of different kinds
Shows in every aspect of life
All we can do
Is live life to the fullest
Live it like it’s our last day
And avoid being center
In a life of chaos
