Chasing Fireflies Poem by Alfred Ramos

Chasing Fireflies

Rating: 3.5

She's chasing fireflies again
She's been trying to catch one since who knows when
Those starlike diamonds flying so high
She runs in circles as the bonfire licks the sky
She wants to catch that elusive dream
Put it in a bottle together with a moonbeam
Then everything she wishes for will come true
What she wishes for I haven't a clue
Those shiny flecks of light
That tantalize the solemn night
They imitate the stars above
It's got to explaing the meaning of love
She doesn't care if she losses sleep
Cause once she catches one it's hers to keep
And for just a little while
She can fall asleep with a bossy smile
Knowing pleasant dreams await the night
As she snuggles next to her own starlight
