Catching glimpse of glory's face
Across room, around corner or bend
Heart leaps, begins to race
And from body and soul it is rend
Without afore-thought to reason
Vessel and escence give chase
After such light of moon or sun
That dazzles even the stars in their infinite space
But ereathral-glow slips from desperate grasp
For every cry and suffered pain
Ever looser is mortal's tightening clasp
Over fading shadow and is all in vain
