Chattering Mind Poem by Gary Burke

Chattering Mind

Oh, be still, oh chattering mind,
Spinning yarns of dread that twist undefined,
Pulling and weaving restless fiction,
Spreading and choking hopeful conviction,
Joyful distraction - ‘oh quiet relief'
From unwanted plots of tireless mind,
Unseen by many smiling faces,
Yarns of dread lie in private places,
All concealed under the weight of normality,
Authentic being within fragile humanity.
