Checkmate Poem by Cheryl A. Caron

Checkmate

Rating: 1.0

The queen moves
Swiftly across the board
Takes the opposing king
Fore he is not the lord
She has served her pawns
Their sacrifices not in vain
She has rewarded her knights
For their suffering and pain
Her brave rooks and bishops
Bow humbly at her feet
Knowing that her opponent
Has no choice but accept defeat

Do you play? What a delightful poem. Queen takes Jester in four moves.
