Cheeting And Corruption's Price. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Cheeting And Corruption's Price.

The clever ones, with books and degrees,
Now weep for kindness, beg for ease.
They built their walls of power and pride,
While truth and trust were cast aside.

Ten thousand broken, hopes turned to dust,
A legacy of lies, fueled by lust.
They knew the rules, the right and the wrong,
But chose to cheat, to scheme, to prolong

Their gilded lives, in kingdoms grand,
Ignoring the suffering across the land.
No matter the title, the crown, or the throne,
The law's sharp edge cuts to the bone.

For justice blind, no rank can sway,
Pay the debt, is all we say.
What's good for the poor, the meek, and the small,
Must hold true for those who stumble and fall.
