God must have known there would be times
that we need a word of a simple cheer,
Someone to praise a triumph
and brush aways our tears

He must have known we need to share
the joy of little things around us,
In order for us to appreciate
the happiness this life brings.

He must have known that our troubled hearts
would sometimes throb with sadness and pain,
at trials and misfortunes we encounter
or such goals we weren't able to achieve.

He knew we'd need the comfort
of a pure understanding heart,
to give us courage and strength
to make a brand new start

He must have known we need someone
A partner unselfish, lasting and true,
I hope that God will give that to you
the answer to your heart's great need
A cherish love with understanding and patience
A love to cherish forever.
