Cherry, Haiku Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

Cherry, Haiku

his grandeur he deriv'd
from heav'n alone—not forgotten
aircraft pilot

*
ah, to sigh,
to languish and to die
maternal mother
*
clear was the sky
new budding flowers did spring
hope and renewal

*
scenic cherry trees
blossoms of many ages
crossing a moon bridge

*
numb with grief
a crop-sprayed lake
Koi's breathless words

*

middle of nowhere
the centre of the universe
god willing

*

talking sense
the telegraph wires hum
all day long
*

I filter
everything you say -
spindrift blossoms
*
a feather falls
a boat upon the water's
nesting material

*

a feather falls
a boat upon the water's
any port in a storm
*
we write with love
we garden with hate
dandelions
*
either side of
the gate posts - dog and cat
no safe passage
*
faith—a flagship
still on course,
destination unchanged
*
despair beneath
cathedral oak limbs
turns to joy

*

despair beneath
cathedral oak buttresses
find harmonious joys

*

despair
in sunny bluebell woods
near impossible
*

early summer
an enchanted rose garden
the honeybee glade

*

early summer
a bright rosy-pink dawn
dairy cows mooing
*
our destiny: a
kingdom of cherry blossoms
intermingling

*

embrace me
with inseparable kisses
cherry blossoms

*

double pink blooms
hold me until we too fall
like cherry blossoms

*

double pink blooms
hold us together till fall
cherry blossoms

*

new heights
each spring - mountain cherry trees
leaf and blossom fall
*
park bench
a place of joy and
despondency
*

marble this fluid
takes a true genius to carve
Venus de Milo
*

searching endlessly;
always elsewhere
is your happiness

*
white chrysanthemums
devotional love tokens
stoic as snowflakes
*
don't despair—the land
will thaw again—exuberant
new beginnings
*
touching down
the earth beneath our feet
was fertile new ground
*
meditation:
these browning camellias
are a well-spent force
*
underwater
above the serenade of
the moon and stars
*
I despair. I've
not believed in a plant
called 'honestly'
*

pink blossom rivers
forked paths from winter
to glorious spring

*
pomegranate red
the glossy vineyard of her
mouth wine-pressed
*
I avert my steps—
in direction and distance
as sea mist transcends
*
unveiling sea mist
remembering a dance
between you and me
*

sea mist
befalls on a slate mine
a living serpent

*
Himalayan seeds,
a heavenly blue with an-
orbiting sun
*
a magic carpet
the sea mist rolling out
leaving starfish

*

a magic carpet
the sea mist rolling out
leaving jellyfish

*

a magic carpet
the sea mist rolling in
leaving asteroids
*

gluttonous black holes
once the cherry blossoms
are swept aside

*

fire extinguisher red
robins never dampen
my spirits

*

April ushers in
the first wasp kitchen buzzing
with activity

*

you think you love me—
then you don't - and then you do?
April rain showers

*

have I not crossed?
this bridge before, paths
going back and forth?

*

have I not crossed?
this bridge before, paths
going back and forth?
reflections now high and low
contemplations after thought

*
yellow forsythia
fringes a bubbling brook—
gold in abundance

*

decimated
all these fairytales—the cherry
blossoms almost gone

*

decimated
fairytales—the cherry
blossoms almost gone

*

The dog ate your homework.
Utter nonsense. Next, you'll be
Flying round the moon

*

Wisteria flaunts itself like a feather boa
All the boys will love me.

*

Leprechauns are -
amongst us hoarding their gold
crypto

*

the gingerbread house
has been eaten—not a sign
of a crumb is left...

*
fairytales
about princesses and frogs
ribbit-ribbit
*
Himalayan
Fairy grass - touches of magic
dotted here and there
*

exquisite
rose tinted apple blossom
a taste of spring

*
in some corner
of my life - there are no more
creepy crawlies
*

tantamount
to a kiss—the French doors
opening—dawn chorus

*

the river winds south
forgetting its throne was once
a mountain top

*

the road back
winds like a winding river
many twists and turns

*

the river greets us
and flocks together in the-
same court laughing

*
a river dance's
in the sunlight, the moonlight
but doesn't take sides

*
a glow of warmth
outside the family home
the prodigal son
*
spring fashion show
in its seasonal green coat
open treasure chest
*
yes, I stand alone
but not without borders or
a little support
*

touching the corners
each fold a display of love
mother's bedmaking

*

your love is displaced
like the sun it warms
the hearts of many

*

I note your tears
the crescendo of a storm
the hint of a smile

*

comfort for me
a warm cup of strong, sweet tea
watching the roses grow

*

what is comfort
is it an old, worn-out shoe
dogs liking your soles

*

teething problems
why does it have to be this-
way? snoring gum shield

*

a yawning cat
watches for the departure
of the winter sun

*
memory has an-
answer for everything—
I can't recall

*

homeward, a storm
topples fir trees, a nesting
site for angry bees

*

journey homeward
a boomerang makes a near
circular flight path

*

homeward some geese
returning honk during the
rush hour traffic

*

we are all dancing
a dance into existence
changing partners

*

classical physics
at a loss, dear, to explain
our entanglement

*

you sent a message
received and understood
what's not to compute?

*

reflective passages
no one way clearer by a
dividing river
