Cherry Orchard Poem by Leon Moon

Cherry Orchard

amongst clusters of cherry orchards
and wet lotus flowers
I walk, pecking grass with my feet;

the air is tight
the wind is aware
as if night

a silhouette
is performing
on a stage of smiling curtains

my stomach empty
eyes coated
in a phrase

I am a child, alone
setting a perfect daze
erasing the azures

star-shipped gaze,
the coast we mourn
buries dawn

relief of the born
we have forgotten our oaths
and betrayed the blissful death

the new god never existed
until he was forged in exile
now we fight for his right

to never be acquitted.
he thinks himself unknown
in the tideless velodrome

amongst clusters of cherry orchards
and wet lotus flowers
pecking lattices with my feet…
