Cherubs With Bowties Shoot Fancier Arrows

Rating: 4.7

Somewhere
A hipster lion bangs his mane
As a hippopotamus plays violent guitar riffs,
While iced out iguanas send sexts to the lady lizards
With pictures of their tails.
Somewhere
Depressed teenage delinquents divulge details of drug deals
Down dark alleys while they chain smoke lucky strikes.
Somewhere
There’s a panda with an extensive record collection
Who refuses to conform to a life of solitude amongst the bamboo,
And frequently makes long distance phone calls
To the grizzlies in alaska.
Somewhere
Weeping woman are starting a widowed wives club on wednesdays
To cope with their losses
And go whale watching on sunday
Instead of going to church.
Somewhere
A raccoon has decided that trash tastes better behind the steakhouse
And dines on t-bones and garlic mashed potatoes
Atop a big green, graffiti covered dumpster.
Somewhere
In nashville a high level record executive
Is deciding what country music is supposed to sound like,
While a band of talented armadillos play their hearts out
With banjo, and a guitar, and a washboard, and a fiddle
On a shady street corner for spare change.
Somewhere
A couple crafty, calico cats categorize carts of comic books
by the color of their covers
then climb into a cardboard box to cuddle with a ball of yarn.
Somewhere
I stand knee deep in a puddle of blood and mud,
Pondering old photographs as the mad rains of march
Pound my forehead;
Flipping a coin to see if this birthday will be my last.
