Childish Pleasure - Poem by Ariel Miles

You're love is like a childish pleasure
when I hold you, I smile
When I hug you, you tell me that you love me
when I kiss you, you don't kiss back
and I question why
but you can't reply
you're affectionate enough to wipe my tears
and when I need you most
you're always there
you're love is like a childish pleasure
It always keeps me happy
and brings me joy
but unlike any other toy
you're love never goes out of style
we go through our ups and downs
new interests are bound to come around
but I could never forget about you
when i fuss and fight
you help me calm down
when I'm punished
you keep me locked down
when I'm handed something new
all I can do is think of you
Through rips and tears and washes
we've wethered
you're love is like a childish pleasure

***I tried to compare it to like a teddy bear.. The ones you squeeze and they say cute things or something like that
