Children Poem by Nick Sym

Children

Rating: 0.5

I shed a tear for our young ones,
but nobody seems to cry with me
They are left with what we leave behind,
so what is the world to be

This planet has stripped them of their innocence,
they all seem to grow so fast
Wanting to be more mature,
instead of trying to make their childhood last

It can be seen on every corner,
everyday on every street
Why cannot this be changed?
is there a reason we accept defeat

All our little ones need attention,
this as parents we all must learn
For it is a God given gift they all deserve,
not one they should have to earn.
