Watch the newsreels showing
the starving children cry.
Watch their teardrops falling,
watch their families die.
Homes brutally shattered
when bombs rain from the sky.
Ev'rything that mattered
the war has snatched away.
Communities are scattered.
No answer when they pray.
Yet they keep believing -
it gets them through the day.
Careless of their grieving,
the macho men insist.
But what are they achieving?
Why can't they coexist?
Peace talks make no progress,
hostilities persist.
Who will start the process,
give some grounds for hoping?
And who will make redress?
