Children Suffer Poem by Miranda Van Yperen

Children Suffer

Rating: 5.0

My name is Jess
I am seven

My daddy hates me
He’s full of sin

He slaps me hard
I start to cry

He calls me names
He won’t try to deny

I hide in the corner
I do not speak

But it's too late
And I am too weak

He picks me up
And throws me hard

Gives me cuts
I'm forever scarred

He’s locked all the doors
I can't get away

I do everything I'm told
I have to obey

Late last night
My dad got angry

He picked me up
And starts to choke me

My name is Jess
I am seven

Now I hide
Safe in heaven
