China White Poem by Hannah Smith

China White

China White

A hard slap across the face,

To keep you conscious-breathing.

If you were awake,

It would be a disgrace-

To your dignity,

To your life,

You rely too much on that smack,

To end your strife.

May God help you,

Out of all these people,

You need it the most.

Although you don't worship him,

Or the holy ghost.

You chant soft curses,

When the fire hits your veins.

Then you're a lost cause,

Trembling- then you go insane.

You're addicted,

A druggie,

A failure at best.

You don't want to believe it,

But you have no choice left.

You've broken my trust,

Tossed me in the dirt,

But I understand,

I've been there.

I know how much it hurts.

But I'll still stand by you,

Weak or strong.

I'll be the rock that doesn't dissolve,

But the one you can lean on.
