Chinese Phoenix Poem by Irini mavroYanaki

Chinese Phoenix

In East Asia,
there's the Feng-Huang
the King of all the birds
Oh, so royal!
It never kills,
governs in peace
and still remains the
Symbol of the Empress.

Chinese Phoenix, holy bird
Feng-Huang is only there,
as long as there is peace in the world
It appears only then,
if there's peace in the world.

Ying-Yang symbol
gives a creation
of harmony through
the opposite forces;
Female is male
and male is female.
Both sexes are depicted the same.

Immortal bird come out and spread
your harmony in this cruel, cold world,
but Chinese Phoenix rarely comes out,
as there's war in our world,
so the sacred bird's gone.

In East Asia,
there's the Feng-Huang;
the mythical Phoenix.
Governs in peaceful world,
descents from heaven to this Earth,
as legend says.
