Chocolate Poem by Mary Champion

Chocolate

Darkly dangerous,
mysteriously magic,
softly melting on my tongue.
My taste-buds luxuriate
in its heavenly flavour,
filling my whole awareness
with sublime pleasure.
Like liquid satin
sliding sensuously down my throat.
Irresistible,
irreplaceable
irrefutably irresponsible.
Deliciously decadent,
delightfully desirable,
criminally calorific,
climactically cathartic,
perfectly palatable,
purely pleasurable.
Blissfully bad blocks of glorious gratification.

Forget Google
and Apple and Amazon,
forget even cowboys
Hollywood
and Rock 'n 'Roll -
this is the best thing
that ever came out of the Americas.
