Choice Between Heart And Reason (Shakespearean Sonnet) Poem by ashok jadhav

Choice Between Heart And Reason (Shakespearean Sonnet)

My heart insists on paths the mind forbids,
It leaps where caution bids me slow my pace;
Desire sings sweetly though wisdom forbids,
And reason trembles at the bold embrace.
To follow thought is safe, yet cold and small,
To heed the heart is perilous, untried;
Each step must risk, must rise or else may fall,
For truth lies split where feeling and thought collide.
Yet sometimes choice is not a single way,
But finding balance, tethered yet set free;
To let the mind discern, the heart obey,
And weave their threads to form what ought to be.
O tender strife where soul and reason meet,
There lies the path where love and life are sweet.
