Christians Poem by Elia Michael

Christians

Rating: 5.0

Some people claim to be devout Christians
I see them bow oh so low to the floor
I see them kiss the Orthodox icons
And lifting their eyes to heaven in awe.
You'd think that these would offer sympathy
Upon the passing away of my mother
But no, such is their hatred and bigotry
That they will not tolerate any other
Religion and this turns their hearts to stone,
Preventing them acknowledging my loss.
Yet others expressed in a kindly tone,
Their words which got their sympathies across.

Some people do not bow low to the ground
But other actions prove their heart is sound.
