Christmas Without Daddy Poem by chris schwartz

Christmas Without Daddy

Christmas is drawing
Near,
Once again
But it's just not the same
As it was,
Way back then.
Oh there's still
All the children
With their eyes
Full of laughter
And visions of them playing
With toys,
The day after.
Presents under the tree
Strung with bows
Green and Red,
Lay on the tree skirt,
Tucked into bed.
Carolers sing
Songs of joy, what a sight
While snow blankets the earth
Bringing peace
To the night.
Yes the signs of the season
Still linger on,
But nothing's the same
Cause this year
You're gone.
