City Dwellers Poem by Natalia Carmona

City Dwellers

CITY DWELLERS

The city night with myriad lights below and no stars above...
Who cares how many eyes are looking up to heaven ?
The roll and rumble of rushing cars,
The rattle of ceaseless action --
The noisy world that dulls and deafens of city dwellers...
Few twinkling stars may still be seen up there --
Who cares, dazzled by the glow of neon lights?
Who sees the trees when passing by?
Who hears his heart or feels his essence
When thousand distractions are out there for city dwellers --
Strangers in a strange world devoid of starry sky,
devoid of inner heaven
