Clarity Poem by Amanda Samarasinghe

Clarity

Clarity is like dapples of light
driving your car underneath the kissing gum trees
visible, yet we do not see
Glimpses of rays blinden our eyes
Yet the roads stay unimpressed

The cold winter is ahead
The trees are dormant
Autumn leaves piling up on the sides of the streets
Why do I wonder what happens to them?
The leaves are swept into a green waste bin..
They are taken away to a far away land..

I stay patiently
For the glum trees to burst into a canopy of greenness
A verdant vortex vertically verging..
For the dapples of light to blind me again..
