Clear Image - Poem by Barbara Randall Clark

I look at her reflection
and I weep
A newly defined slave
What does it profit her
To be patient?
She is ignored
She sleeps by a stranger
Angered by her acceptance of his indifference
Rationalizing is not enough
What a pity
To die
Having never lived!
