Cleopatra Poem by Patrick Fealy

Cleopatra

Rating: 5.0

Cleopatra
She was my Cleopatra
My queen upon the Nile
Perfume from her golden curls
engulfed me for a while
Echoes of her laughter
traces of her tears
Whispers that I still recall
chase me through the years

She drew me from my kingdom
Swept me from my feet
All my strength at her command
a voice so soft and sweet
In french her words were spoken
the language of her love
That which only hearts command
like the angels choirs above

Time went on a voyage
Keeping her from me
there upon the shifting sands
upon my bonne journee
A revoir my sweet heart
I bid you fond adieu
To the stars I kiss my hand
May angels fly to you

A very heart warming poem. Nicely crafted. Thanks.
