You can turn your face into the wind
But that won’t blow away your sin
Your silver tongue lies
Your well established alibis
It is what will do you in
You can close your eyes to the sun
But that won’t hide what you’ve done
All of your misdeeds
Mistrust is all it feeds
Your deception didn’t deceive anyone
You can run away for all that’s true
But in the back of my mind I think I knew
That our love was wrong
But I played along
Now look what’s left of me and you
You can hide in the shadows of deceit
And walk a path that’s incomplete
You say our world is too dark to see
Hidden were the lies of objectivity
That was what led to our defeat
You can deliver the sermon of all time
How the greatest love was yours and mine
Stand on a pedestal so all can hear
But your tainted truths will crack a mirror
Because your feelings were never genuine
