Cloud Chief Farmstead Poem by Marilyn Lott

Cloud Chief Farmstead

Out in the country of Cloud Chief
Steve and Sheila spent time at the farm
The animals quickly came over
Turning on the best of their charm

And as usual it worked
Bullet and Misty know how
To get their share of attention
So much wiser than a cow

Then along came the cat
From amidst the red barn
He too had a way
Of flashing some charm

So Sheila gave in
Grabbed him up for a hug
The cat looked at the horses
And felt pretty smug

He purred just as loud
As he could possibly do
To send Sheila the message
“I love you, it’s true! ”

But of course cat’s, you know
Never get enough attention
And horses love it too
There’s no time for discretion

Steve joined in until time to go
A moment the animals always dread
But it was such an enjoyable day
At the Cloud Chief Farmstead!
