Cold Nights Poem by Ashton Ramdeo

Cold Nights

Rating: 5.0

I've seen some cold night and bloody days
Trapped in a self-imposed war as it is displayed
Many have sunken and met with the next man in the grave
They try concealing their self-inflicted lacerations
But the contusions have been unveiled due to the sheer magnitude
Although there is always the selfless that exist
Not all can help the depressed

A world overflown with the sorrow attitude
Some die by the gun, some die by the knife
And it's not right
Various ways they decide to progress into the valley of the shay of death
Yet their despondency may be enforced on others
As they don't realize it is a selfish act
Instead of eliminating the pain they possibly pass it on to innocent
Although there is the selfless that exist
Not all can help the depressed

Most don't seek help, just pain uncontrolled and unheard of
Sickened in the head as they wake to see an early death
Each day newer victims have fallen, younger and more vulnerable
It's a shame most are no longer with us
But very few surpass this phase and overcome the struggle
Whilst the others choose to depart in despair
Although there is the selfless that exist
Not all can help the depressed

These poor anguished souls scarcely seek brighter days
Even then is may not change their fate
The causes are sometimes simple other times complex
For instance, the non-existence of a certain being can make them deprive
While some others have a genetic vulnerability
Too many individuals facing these offenses
But in the end its every man for themselves
A battle that can last you till the grave
Although there is the selfless that exist
Not all can help the depressed
