Collage Poem by Debasish Verma

Collage

I was tightly gripping a semi-cracked picture frame, looking at the old snaps that are pasted there.
It does not look the same anymore;
It got shabby, a little torn at the edge, and fairly soiled, with marks of water mixed with dust and oil.
A medley of memories of a juvenile family,
Clips that recall a time when we all use to launch
a fight over simple ice cream,
Cakes were cut with the sharpest knife
To give an equal share to those who created strife,
We end up with large PIZZA with cheese and oregano
With cups of dips and baked potato,
We used to conclude the dinner with coffee, coke and salad with lots of tomatoes.
The day has come once again to add a new face,
Of a kid who joined the family's posse,
That has light up the candle of innocence
with a pleasing smile so young and agile,
That will wards off the darkness of my rolling age and lessens the wrinkles on my avid face;
We all join our hands to add up her photo in the family's new frame.
