Colony Of Ants Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Colony Of Ants

Sitting here waiting for the bombs to drop
I doubt I will have to wait much longer
'Suppose God has decided to reap his crop
And lead all his lambs off to the slaughter

Tell me why man seems to wage so much war
So many battles fought through the ages
Is there something that lies within our core
Like a fire that does burn, rampages

We're the same as a colony of ants
Like insects totally out of control
Across the globe we do march and rant
World hegemony seems to be our goal

How many empires in the past did fail
And now we will fall to this sorry tale
