The fires are here -
A heat
Superfluously climbing
A slow retreat
As I sign my resignation
Within her pillars,
As I meet
The flame
At the tryst
As the lions
Devour me.
They bid
Empires,
Constellations, crowns
Scepters, cities with
Famed monikers -
I sit here,
Holding a long-stemmed flower
Of flamboyance
A petty proposal
That withers and dithers
As I watch them,
Watch her.
The oceans close in
Like thieves upon bare doors.
A slow decay -
Prickly pirouette
Against the clocks
This sickly countenance.
In her gardens,
This expanse
Between an arid region,
The anxious pebbles
Rattle in their slumber.
I watch myself
Die in one of the stars.
The Sun slurs
In its colossal fume.
It tends to me,
A marred metamorphosis.
The aurora strokes
My resilient petals
And then
They watch me
Wither
Crumble
As the rocks enjoy
Their infinity.
The night splurges
A baleful slosh of
Embittered water.
I took little photographs
Of my ensuing death
As the rocks implode
And break in a peal
Of ruthless oblivion.
The expanse
Seals my death
As she is fastened
With other things.
