Come Back Poem by Zena Blank

Come Back

I'm sorry
The world is crushing us
We are giving into it
I didn't mean to snap like I did
Nor did I mean for you to see
You didn't need to see me like that
At my worst
No one is ever supposed to see me like that
I'm sorry
I hurt you
Sliced deep
Possibly built a wall in the process
where a bridge used to be
out of the ashes
a enormous wall
that you don't want to break down
not after what I did
I desperately want to dismantle it.
It's too big of a job for one person
I'm sorry.
