Come Back To Me Poem by Yazmin Rosario

Come Back To Me

Every night now, she finds herself alone
Crying to sound of his heartbeat
The beat that once was so in sync with hers
Every morning now, she awakes to the sun shining in
yet without the comforting that she once had
The embrace that helped her through each day
Every mid day now, she is at home anxiously waiting
For the one phone call of his voice
The voice which she would hear every so often yet now so rare.
With every day now, passing along by,
The days have gotten shorter, and the nights are now the ones she mourns for they seem infinite.
The memories, the love, the warmth, the person she once knew so well.
Would he turn around?
Only time would tell.
But to wait would be foolish,
& to leave is way to sad
For she can't handle it any longer
The situation has gotten bad.
