Come Over To Me Poem by Ali Rahimi

Come Over To Me

Rating: 5.0

In this dog-eat-dog life,
Where grief and boredom are rife,
Keep away from all sadness and strife,
Come over to me, lose no time, rush,
Come over to the end of this pavement,
Where small flowers have grown,
Forget about all losers,
People around us feel sad, mad, godforsaken,
Wrathful, even suicidal, and heartbroken,
Fighting tooth and nail for money, they are mistaken,
Seeking delusions of love, illusions of prosperity,
Mirage of loyalty and fidelity,
Oh shame! they get only pain and stupidity,
But, come over to my oasis, my haven,
Safe harbor, happy resort,
Look at my face, my eyes, my hair,
My garment and shoes, not dazzling, even ragged,
Not appetizing?
Come over to my place, at the end of the pavement,
Shall listen to you, remember your stories,
Your lines, dates, even names,
Like a tireless recording machine! on and on,
Shall talk to you in warm deep masculine baritone,
Most addictive, supportive overtone,
Resonating sound waves of harmony and emancipation,
Shall protect you till the very last drop my warm blood!
A massive, solid presence you can rely on,
Come what may! What will be will be!
Here is our joy station, mystic street, love palace,
Peace parlor, loyalty road, hotel understanding,
Yes, come over to me,
Yes, others might be down and out,
Tired and sad, greedy, even savage,
Who gives a hoot, darling?
Come over to me………………
