Come Pass By Us In Calithea Poem by Ahmad M. Bassioni

Come Pass By Us In Calithea

Come pass by us στην Καλλιθέα
For 'Their beer is good', we loudly shout
For a tale of winter we're here about.

A tale of love, a tale of hate
A tale of pain and another of fate
'Δεν ξέρουμε τη μοίρα μας'
'though it's carved on the hearts of us.

Come sit with us στην Καλλιθέα
For life is of pain and regretting due.

A tale of a death, a tale of life
A tale of a heart implanted with a knife
Ashes to ashes, dust to be.

Come weep with me στην Καλλιθέα
Our friends of Greeks, Franks and Brits
Hearts are slit and torn into bits.

A tale of faces, a tale of races
A tale against odds, bets with aces

Come pass by me στην Καλλιθέα
For 'Their beer is good', I barely shout
No one's here, and to my business I be about.
