Come, Share Poem by Sutapa Chaudhuri

Come, Share

Come, let us now share the loneliness, I say!
the chilling loneliness of a long distance runner.
Come, let us lose ourselves
in the frenzied maze of life
ever winding serpents of darkness
hissing, raging, rising
in abysmal deeps.
Trapped in cocoons of platitude-
come let us now fight for wings.
Gossamer wings, warm, ethereal
yet strong enough to carry power.
Serpents hiss below still.
