Come To Your Senses Poem by Carolyn Breeze

Come To Your Senses

Rating: 5.0

Black and white, Day and Night.
How does it come to this?

Racial slurs ignighting nerves,
It's unity I miss.

All for one, and one for all
Man was created equal.

In God's image we were made,
So in truth we are just the sequel.

In the bible a tower was built,
Upon which no man could agree.

So in God's wrath he changed our paths,
Our skin color, and our speech.

He spread us throughout the world
Giving us our culture.

No man has the right or power
To decide another's future.

Why we cannot get along.
Why we can't agree

It doesn't come from incidents
It comes from within you and me.

Man can band together as one
Over a single person's needless death.

Why can't we all band together
Instead of fight among ourselves.

If we put the hate that drives us
Into love and motivate it.

We could fight for the right to have
The freedom that God our creator gave us.
