Commence Poem by Laurence Overmire

Commence

One never knows
Where the trail may lead
The path, once started
Never visible
But every turn of brush
Reveals
New shades of green leaf

Meanings

Light filtered through
Knowledge of trees
Splayed wisdom dropping
In silent testimony
From highest branch of heaven
To hungry Earth
It falls

Like night, too soon at sun's set
Waiting.
