Communion
As we sit and share the silence
Of ineffable love
My eyes and yours
Look like they have seen
Where only the chosen have been...
At such times one feels
For the leaf that has fallen
The rooted tree that can see
Only through the bird's eyes
For the girl who cannot grow
But thinks her mother
Will be there, forever
