Commute

Commute
by Ted L Glines

Ain't nothin better than a peyote sandwich
in the mornin,
chew it up masticate til the visions hit you
without warnin,
lookin out the windshield see the colors swirlin
oh so pretty,
don't you worry bout the traffic all the trucks and the buses
look like birdies,
look at all the people they're just dancin and a'jumpin
they're so funny,
listen to the screamin makes you happy you are dreamin
easter bunny,
gimme more peyote gotta have some more peyote
gettin higher,
an the world is rockin rollin like a lava lamp a'burnin
in the fire,
if you wanna better day you gotta learn a better way
in the dawnin,
cause there ain't nothin better than a peyote sandwich
in the mornin.

Author's Notes: You ever get tired of that long boring commute to work every day? Heh heh, forget I said that. The tune to 'Carolina Morning' kept playing in my head all night long at work. Words were nice and good and wonderful - and dead boring, so some new (not necessarily better) words leaped in to liven up the tune. Peyote? Hmmm, must be those two drops of Yaqui Indian blood in me. Sounds like an 'uprising' kemo sabe!
