Confession Of A Seeker Poem by SREEJITH KULAPARAMBIL

Confession Of A Seeker

Rating: 5.0

Saint, I proclaimed myself!
Until I saw her on that moonlit night,
My celibacy withered with the very thought of her sight,
The spirits were swinging like a swaying tree, out of gust,
Soon my emotions were poisoned by the lust.

Moon and Stars were witness to my state,
I wished that dame to be my Soul-mate,
My heart was no more in my bate,
I was losing it to her, without any debate.

The momentary pleasures appeared to be eternal delights
With the very touch of her hands, my emotions rose to heights
But my dreams shattered, when I lost her to another man,
She was no more there to be my fan

I wished to cognise the reason for my strife
Before I touch the dusk of life
I had boasted to be a paragon and had always agonised
The past were my fooleries then I realised

Now the time is too short to fight and quarrel,
This is the lesson of life and the ultimate moral.
Moments will fly away like a feather in a breeze,
And the time we forgo will cease

I retreated back to my old path,
Where I wished to search for my soul’s bath,
When I pondered over the thoughts of my past,
I discovered the obscure path, lying untravelled long and vast

I vowed to remain in this resplendent path,
To seek higher self and to forget the wrath,
Indeed, I have forgiven myself for the past,
My journey for the life with new resolution initiated at last.

Alone I was when I came in this world,
Alone I will be when I leave this world,
No friends and foes will come with me
Neither my kinsmen will ever accompany

Lone crusader I am, I have to move alone,
Seek the glorious path to unravel the unknown
I bow before the divine to strengthen my spine,
For the path is constricted and elusive, but I will not resign.
