Confessions Of A Drunk And The Effects Of Speeding Poem by James Taylor

Confessions Of A Drunk And The Effects Of Speeding

The rough sea of glass pierced her harshly,
The sudden scream filled me immensely,
The crunch of metal sounded strongly,
The cry for help was lost within me.

The pools of emotion left her gently,
The striking pain rushed through me,
The joy of speeding rotted greatly,
The buzz from drinking deflated sadly.

The happiness of life flew from me
The smell of death leaked freely,
The heart felt tears fell increasingly,
The girl I loved has gone completely.
