Confidence Poem by Saliha AHU

Confidence

C o n f i d e n c e
is my nemesis.
It comes and goes
Leaves me jiberish
Awkward unfolding
Not composed weird
Smiling uncomfortably
Unexpected, unsuspected
People must really…
think I'm normal.
Sometimes it takes
All my energy to keep
People that way
But then they see
the weird in me
Eye contact is the key
To keep them that way;
Unaware, but although
I know that and
As I speak and face
the emptiness I
cannot, no actually;
I can, but it will
take me time
to look you in the eye
and continue the act
of the confident me.

Well expressed thoughts and feelings nicely penned with insight. A witty introspective piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing.
