hated failure

He confuses me.
I understand he has been through a lot
But when he acts so very kind one moment
And as though I am a mere annoyance
The next,
It confuses me.

When we have jokes to share
And suddenly he leaves
And goes somewhere
Inside himself,
Closing off from the world,
It confuses me.

When he tells me things I know
He probably has not told anyone else
Yet does not tell me what I really
Would like to know,
It confuses me.
