Connected - Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph
Watching Titanic movie
On HBO channel last evening:
Throughout most of the movie, mind
Was hovering around the Immanent Will
Of Thomas Hardy, and not of God, and
Around the Spinner of the Years of the poet.
As teenager, I read novels in plenty
And the President of Immortals
Ending his sport with Tess
Pierced through me clean and hard:
Did not admire the attitude or sarcasm
Behind the references, but could not forget them.
