Connections Poem by Benjamin Jansen

Connections

Left foot,
Right foot,
And grass between your toes,
Gives you a sense, a connection to whats down below,
A tingle,
A prick,
Hopefully a bite or two,
Gives you a belonging to what you've come to,
Bones are strong and made to endure,
It doesn't mean they will not break if you let yourself fall to far,
But always and again and again you will have to stand up and face more difficult woes,
For a chess piece does not prance in place,
It's always on the move for the risk of being slow,
Ride your horse until the breaking of a new dawn,
Feel the connection and know that mind, body, and soul are one,
If one fails repair it as new,
Strive to be yourself everyday,
Embrace the world and know that you will be okay.
