Conscience Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Conscience

A little voice inside our head,
Tells us what's good, what makes us dread.

It knows the difference, right from wrong,
A moral compass, helping us along.

When we do good, it sings with glee,
Integrity shines, for all to see.

But if we stray, and choose what's bad,
Remorse creeps in, we feel so sad.

Some say it's rules, from long ago,
Learned from parents, soft and low.

Some think it's built in, part of our soul,
A guiding light, to make us whole.

A gift we have, this inner guide,
To live with honor, deep inside.

The world agrees, we all deserve,
A chance to listen, and to observe,

The voice of conscience, clear and true,
To choose the right, in all we do.
