Constant Yearning - Poem by Midifo Yearns

He opened wide his hand to give
but I was far, and so I live
in constant yearning for the gift
that needs from me to make the shift
from selfishness and broken trust
to open heart with which I must
surrender and abandon fear
take courage and approach, draw near

to that great love that heals, forgives
and in God’s mercy always lives
abandoned and at peace to stay
in following the only way
the path of truth, the way of love
that comes upon us from above
