Consume Me - Poem by Stefanie Fontker

Consuming me,
A new hobby of yours
Though I doubt
I am as sweet
As you sing
My blood is beneath
Your perfectly
Manicured fingernails
Am I nothing
But an appendage,
An extension of you?
Anything and everything
You ask me,
'What do you covet? '
Dying and being
Reborn once more
A pitch black
