Contemplation Poem by Jackie Chou

Contemplation

How do you un-waste time
The seconds that drip from the clock's hands
Turning into minutes, hours, days
Do you cup your hands to catch them
Like tears rolling down your face
Use a bucket to collect them
Like rainwater to be recycled
Or do they slip through the holes of consciousness
When daydreams take over the psyche
Lost forever
Until the heart becomes skillful enough
To move along with the hour's quick rhythm
